3D Interactive Tech Talk – Accident Rescue Training, Bus Driving Sim

Welcome to our recurring post, 3D Interactive Tech Talk, highlighting how interactive technology is being used right now and where it’s headed.

Accident Rescue Workers Get VR Boost in Training

20150103_scdf_STRescue workers in the Singapore Civil Defense Force will be getting some high-tech assistance as part of a million dollar VR training simulator. The new sim unit combines VR and 3D tech in creating a variety of accident scenarios. Crews will use actual tools with sensors determining if they were used correctly. Trainers will even be able to introduce variables like equipment failure, and smoke and fuel leaks, preparing workers for scenarios that would be difficult and expensive to simulate in real-life.
