In a sign that video games are just preparing kids to run the machinery of the future, a new virtual training mode will allow sailors on Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) to perform a variety of functions using Wii or Kinect devices. The new suite of training modules encompasses a variety of scenarios, using computer-generated avatars as instructors, and guide sailors in solving real world problems using virtual tools. And virtual training makes sense besides, because modern warships are becoming more automated all the time.
