Virtual Training Will Save Billions for Military – and Increase Safety

avatar (1)The Government Business Council has the results of a recently commissioned study of 310 active-duty and civilian Department of Defense personnel – and in addition to admitting that current live training systems are unlikely to meet training needs, “67 percent agreed that the next generation of soldiers will learn better through multimedia training.” More than half of those surveyed also agree that safety will be increased “a great deal,” and the Air Force projects savings of $1.7 billion over four years using virtual training to offset live flying.

 

HAECO Will Save Training Time in Partnership with Airbus
Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company (HAECO) will use Airbus “standards and tools” in their new agreement for maintenance and engineering training to maintain Airbus aircraft. Those standards and tools include simulation aircraft on which engineers can practice maintenance scenarios. “According to Airbus, the virtual training system halves the amount of time engineers need to spend practicing on real aircraft.”
