Gaming Startup Plans to Disrupt Education
Much like how Heartwood is shifting the training paradigm in the O&M industry, Electronic Arts (EA) founder, Trip Hawkins, seeks to shake up how we educate children. “While educational games have been around for decades … technology is [now] right and the customers are interested,” Hawkins said.

NTSB Calls for Increased ‘Scenario-based’ Training

“Citing several recent maintenance-related accidents,” the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued two new safety alerts at Heli-Expo 2014.
The NTSB called on mechanics to “get proper training, use work cards to document all completed maintenance steps, get independent inspection of critical maintenance items, verify that all work is performed in accordance with manufacturer procedures, work with flight check pilots to ensure all checks are completed.”
Interactive Training via Visual Checklists would ensure these critical reminders were not limited to simulator-based training as they’d be portable, scalable and modular.
