Augmented Reality on Your iPhone? Possibly Coming Soon!

flyover_heroDo you use your iPhone to navigate? Well, it might be hard to resist soon, if not! Apple is working on ways to “use its camera in combination with on-device software to generate virtual maps of your surroundings, which are overlaid on a real feed, and which can do things like provide a look inside surrounding buildings.” How cool is that?

3D Virtual Surgery Simulator to Save Lives in Developing World
Offering “an atlas of 3D interactive cleft surgeries,” it will allow “doctors in developing countries state-of-the art training via the web.” And according to Aaron Oliker, the Director of 3D technologies, this training has become “a blueprint for other surgical specialties including breast reconstructive surgery, oncology and cardiothoracic surgery.” Interactive 3D Tech at its best, right there!
