Simulating Active Shooter Scenarios to Train Police
This “Enhanced Dynamic Geo-Social Environment, or “EDGE” – was created by the Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate with the help of the U.S. Army.” It can be customized to create virtual replicas of events, suspects and weapons and “offers a training experience impossible to replicate in reality.”
Virtual Tool Simulates Birth To Head Off Difficult Deliveries
Doctors have developed a way to help mothers prepare for (and potentially avoid) difficult deliveries with this new virtual tool. It was “designed by a team at the University of East Anglia headed up by Rudy Lapeer, [and] gives doctors the ability to input the exact measurements of a woman’s pelvis and those of her fetus to simulate the potential trajectory down the birth canal” – and prepare for any difficulties.

I-CAR is completely overhauling its training systems to provide “more efficient methods of delivering its training content to the repair industry.” Though details of the actual training elements are fuzzy, we’re guessing there’s are interactive and/or mobile elements at play. We’ll provide more info as we have it!
