3D Generalist
Heartwood, Inc. (www.hwd3d.com) provides complete PC-based turnkey training solutions that revolutionize the way our defense, corporate and industrial users learn. We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our production team as a 3D Generalist on a contract basis with potential for full-time. Since we work on confidential projects, all production must be done on-site at our studio in San Mateo.
3D Generalist Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Assist with production process from pre-production through delivery
• Perform various tasks from modeling/texturing to rigging, animating, rendering and compositing
• Source suitable reference materials for required assets
• Work to meet defined milestones within a timeline and strict time constraints
• Possible team leading or managing projects
• Report to Director of Production
Requirements (please do not apply if you do not fulfill all 3 items):
• Proven ability to model, texture, rig, animate, light and render in 3ds Max
• Proven ability to edit, key and composite in After Effects
• Must be a US citizen and work in our studio in San Mateo
Attributes and Experience:
• Minimum 3 years recent experience in After Effects, Photoshop and 3D animation using 3ds Max
• Experience working with large files
• Have a good understanding of 2D production and how it is incorporated into 3D animation
• Ability to follow instruction and be relatively self sufficient
• Can handle shifting schedules, set priorities and handle multiple projects with team support
• Ability to think and learn quickly as project needs change
• Ability to take a project from start to finish
• Must be able to meet deadlines
Desired Skills and Pluses:
• Experience with matte painting, particles, environments and/or lighting
• Experience rigging and animating characters
• Experience with VFX or motion graphics
• Experience in a game studio
