Get a Sneak Peek at the 3D Interactive App We’re Unveiling at CANSEC
Did you know that CANSEC is Canada’s largest defense technology showcase? It is, and this year’s event will have over 120,000 square feet of indoor exhibits as well as outdoor displays, plus feature Canada’s leading defense and aerospace companies. That makes CANSEC a great event to unveil our latest 3D Interactive Virtual Training Application.
We developed this immersive 3D application for Oshkosh Defense. For over 90 years, Oshkosh has been mobilizing military and security forces around the globe, and relying on advanced technologies to provide a technical edge to their customers.
Here’s a video clip of the 3D Interactive Virtual Training Application in action:
Oshkosh HEMTT Virtual Training from Heartwood 3D on Vimeo.
If you’re going to CANSEC, then stop by the Oshkosh Defense booth #1001 and let them demonstrate how 3D Interactive Virtual Training is helping dramatically reduce training related travel and equipment transport costs.
And even if you’re not able to make this year’s event, you can still learn how Heartwood is helping military, defense, and aerospace companies transform their training programs with 3D Interactive Technologies.

Gaming Technology is Serious Business
One of the things we like most about our business, is that we take serious training and apply cutting edge gaming technology to make it engaging, fun, and ultimately, more effective. Whether it's using iPhone and iPads to train military personnel in the field, or providing full 3D training right in your standard web browser, we've found the more you can make learning feel like playing, the better the results.
As it turns out, we're not the only ones that believe that. Governments and private businesses around the world are partnering to create innovative games that drive more socially responsible behavior, help plan for emergencies, or even crowdsource the results of complex international policy decisions. That's some serious gaming!

Arming Business Warriors for Market Warfare
Marketing and selling to big industries, like the military, defense, aerospace, and healthcare, can be a challenge. Even after you've learned how to navigate the rules, regulations, and certifications required to do business in these industries, you still have to figure out how to break through the noise and connect with the right people.
Ed "Hawkeye" Hennessey is an expert at helping companies break into these complex markets. After years in the trenches of sales, marketing, and business development Ed founded Performance Marketing Group, with the goal of arming "tough business warriors" with the skills and support they need to succeed.
"Performance Marketing Group helped guide us toward some out-of-the-box marketing programs in a slow-to-change industry," says Raj Raheja, Co-founder and CEO of Heartwood 3D. "Ed has an in-depth knowledge of the defense, aerospace, and military space, and a roster of trusted contacts who look to him to introduce new techniques and technologies to the market."
Ed was recently featured in the Quinnipiac University Business alumni magazine, where he shares more about the mission of PMG. And, be sure to check out Ed's book, "Market Warfare: Leadership and Domination Over Competitors" on Amazon.
Heartwood Co-founder Neil Wadhawan Recognized for Entrepreneurship by Northeastern University
Remember when you were a kid, and getting your name in the newspaper was a huge deal? Your parents would buy lots of copies, cut out the page and hang it on the refrigerator door, and boast to friends and family. In short, it was your moment in the spotlight!Breaking the Rules to Break Into Business
"I came to this country a day before 9/11…"
This is how CEO and co-founder, Raj Raheja, begins the story of finding and signing up Heartwood's first client. In the uncertainty of the weeks and months following 9/11, businesses were not eager to take on new projects. Companies across all industries pulled back to "wait and see" mode, and Raj resorted to searching Craigslist in hopes of finding opportunities for new deals.
Finally finding a prospect with some potential, Raj was dismayed to see that the application process was entirely based on a form submission, and that the company had expressly forbidden phone calls from applicants – going so far as to say that anyone who called would be disqualified. Faced with a tough market and few options, Raj made his decision.
Read the full story on The Unpaved Road blog to get a glimpse into how Raj's unique combination of humor and dedication have helped grow Heartwood from that first client, to a business providing unmatched 3D Interactive Learning and 3D Interactive LeadGen experiences to some of the world's most recognized brands.

Heartwood Video Footage from Native Client Event at Google Headquarters
Modern PCs can execute billions of instructions per second, but today's web applications can access only a small fraction of this computational power. Welcome Google’s Native Client, a technology that aims to give 3D Interactive Learning developers such as Heartwood access to the full power of the client's CPU while maintaining the browser neutrality, OS portability and safety that people expect from web applications.
Below is video footage from a Native Client event on December 8th 2011 at Google Headquarters that highlights a presentation from Neil Wadhawan, Co-founder & VP of Sales and Marketing at Heartwood. The full-length video of the event can be viewed here >>
Native Client running in Google’s Chrome browser enables Heartwood to deliver full 3D interactivity plugin-free applications built in Unity while further streamlining application deployment and giving learners simplified access.
