U.S Secret Service
When the U.S. Secret Service needed to introduce its new Joint Operations Center, it called upon Heartwood to create a detailed 3D interactive simulation. Some virtual training solutions train tasks or processes; however, this virtual training project served very different purposes. The U.S. Secret Service wanted to familiarize its agents and staff with the layout and functionality of the new command center. Heartwood received CAD file drawings and photographs from the U.S. Secret Service. Then, Heartwood's award winning modeling team created a virtual environment that would replicate the Joint Operations Center’s functionality – including embedded features. As a result, the learners (agents and staff) could freely “walk through” the facility and explore functionality from their home location. This first-person perspective allowed learners to develop spatial familiarity of the real-world Joint Operations Center through a 3D training simulation. This approach worked well for the U.S. Secret Service’s geographically distributed workforce. Heartwood used the latest in 3D modeling and gaming technology to create a first-person, immersive 3D environment. This serious game solution was delivered to the U.S. Secrete Service both on time and within budget. Heartwood received an “exceptional” performance rating on this project.
