Summary Video for Task Trainer
Virtual task trainers present learners with a sandbox environment where they can freely interact with objects within the training simulation. This video was produced as part of an entire virtual training simulation for a defense contractor. The learners were presented with a scenario where a radar system had produced an error fault. The students were then instructed to diagnose the source of the error. This virtual task simulation provides the same diagnostic challenge that operations and maintenance technicians must perform in the field. They must achieve three goals:
- Identify the source of the fault;
- Find an efficient path to diagnose the error; and
- Reduce downtime by preventing incorrect diagnoses.
Within the virtual task trainer, students must determine the proper steps to diagnose the source of the error and make the appropriate repairs. Afterwards, students view this video. The video presents an efficient solution to repairing the radar system. It discusses best practices and provides both an interactive walkthroughs and narrative explanation. Therefore, the virtual task trainer provides an ideal solution to the challenge presented within the training simulation.
