ATK, partnered with Heartwood C2Act solutions to create a prototype of an immersive training application for their Armed Caravan Program. ATK’s Armed Cessna Caravans provided a critical role in the stand-up of the Iraqi Air Force against counterinsurgency threats. Heartwood developed a prototype virtual training simulation. It demonstrated how air crews would train on ATK’s Armed Caravan. The application was designed to be engaging, immersive, and low-cost. These real-time, low-poly simulations demonstrated critical skills in a highly-efficient manner. Additionally, virtual training simulations allow learners to bridge language differences through 3D interactive models. In addition, text and audio elements can be localized. Heartwood C2Act solutions incorporated a control menu with reset, help and exit functions. This example is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what immersive virtual training can accomplish.
